During the match, Chelsea dominated as Nicolas Jackson gave them the lead inside 20 minutes before Alexander Isak equalised in the 32nd minute.
In the second half, Chelsea were off to a flyer as Cole Palmer made it 2-1 after just two minutes.
Speaking on Sky Sports, former Arsenal man Alan Smith said: “Anything involving Cole Palmer in the final third spells danger. Palmer can do no wrong! But the goalkeeper shouldn't have been beaten there.”
As a result of their 2-1 win against Newcastle, Chelsea moved up to fourth place in the Premier League table ahead of Arsenal’s match against Liverpool.
