Kate Scott delivered arguably the most brutal introduction in CBS history on Wednesday night as Jamie Carragher made his much-anticipated return to the punditry line-up.
Carragher was in the Anfield crowd as Liverpool were knocked out of the Champions League on penalties by Paris Saint-Germain.
The former Liverpool defender cut a stone-faced in the Kop and shortly after the full-time whistle on Tuesday, he admitted to feeling "deflated" after watching Arne Slot's side fall at the last 16 stage.

Speaking to CBS about the result, he said: "I am a bit deflated about the result but listen, the best team won - PSG."
"We saw how they performed in the first leg to make it 1-0. I called it a robbery. In this game, I thought the first 20 minutes to half an hour, I felt like Liverpool were going to go on and win the game comfortably," he continued.
"They just couldn't get that goal early on. They had two or three chances they didn't put away, then PSG got that goal."
The 47-year-old added: "For the rest of the game, it felt nip and tuck. In extra time, it just felt like PSG took over really. Where I was in the Kop, we were all just desperate and hanging on for penalties really. But even that wasn't a given - it's a lottery and anything can happen."

After such a disappointing evening, Carragher returned to the CBS studio alongside Kate Scott, Thierry Henry and Micah Richards ahead of an action-packed night of Champions League action.
But presenter Scott was quick to remind the so-called "prodigal son" about Tuesday night's result in her now-viral introduction.
Here's how fans on social media reacted to the below clip.
One said: "He is RATTTTLLLLLEEEDDD inside," while another commented: "Kate please never stop cooking his ass. We are enjoying that s***."

A third wrote: "Every time I think Kate Scott can’t out-do herself."
A fourth said: "This is generational cooking from Kate," and a fifth added: "She didn't have too do him like that."
In the segment, Scott began: "Hello, welcome to our London studios. I am Kate Scott and I am once again joined by Thierry Henry and Micah Richards.

"Tonight, just like the story of the prodigal son. A bit too big for his boots, he thought life would be sweeter on the road. He thought he would be away, enjoying drinking and revelling, but he took a major loss and realised his foolishness."
Scott added: "He came home, humbled. Hoping that he would be accepted. Jamie Carragher, back in the chair."
The look on Carragher's face was priceless. Thoughts on the segment? Let us know in the comments.
