Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has emerged as a target for Bayern Munich, it has been claimed.
The Dutchman’s long-term position at Old Trafford is in doubt after a disappointing campaign in which the club failed to qualify for next season’s Champions League, having finished bottom of their group in this year’s iteration of the competition.
Meanwhile, Bayern Munich are on the hunt for a new manager, with Thomas Tuchel set to leave the club at the end of the campaign, amid the club not winning the Bundesliga title for the first time in 12 years.

The Bavarian giants are already thought to have been turned down by Xabi Alonso, Julian Nagelsmann and Ralf Rangnick.
And according to BILD, Ten Hag is among a four-man shortlist of managers Bayern’s sporting director Max Eberl is considering to replace Tuchel should United decide to part ways with the former Ajax boss.
Benfica's Roger Schmidt, former Wolves boss Julen Lopetegui and Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi are also said to be on the shortlist despite the latter having committed his immediate future to Brighton.

De Zerbi told Sky Sports: "We're going to speak with Tony [Bloom, Brighton's owner].
"I think I would like to stay in Brighton because I love my players. I love this city. I love my club and my fans. I said in the meeting with the fans, if I'm happy, there isn't any club can bring myself to change a team but I want to keep my passion always."
Bayern were turned down by Rangnick earlier this week, with the ex-Manchester United manager committing his future to Austria ahead of the summer’s European Championships.

"I'm the Austrian team coach with all my heart," he said. "I really enjoy this task and am determined to successfully continue on our chosen path.
"I would like to expressly emphasise that this is not a rejection of Bayern, but rather a decision for my team and our common goals. Our full concentration is on the Euros. We will do everything we can to get as far as possible."
