Tommy Fury’s father, John, has revealed that he fasted on the day of his son’s fight against Jake Paul.
Last Sunday, American YouTuber turned boxer Paul and former Love Island contestant Fury finally met inside the ring as the pair battled for glory in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Fury eventually came out on top as he was announced the winner via split decision after eight rounds of tense action.

After the fight, Fury’s father, John revealed he decided to fast on the day of the bout. You can watch the footage below.
He said: “Well, it’s one of them in the name of my lord and saviour Jesus Christ. I dedicate this win to him, without him nothing is possible.
“And I fasted in the name of Jesus.”

Fury himself was visibly emotional after winning his grudge match against Paul.
During his post-fight interview, the 23-year-old said: “For the past two and a half years this is all that consumed my life. Broken rib, was denied access and everyone thought I was running scared.
Tonight I made my own legacy. I am Tommy Fury. I want to dedicate this fight to my new baby girl Bambi at home and my Mrs. I love you and I can’t wait to see you.”
Fury continued: “This fight was for you. This belt is for you Bambi I love you. I had a dream and a vision I would win this fight. No one believed me. Now I can stand up and everyone can take note.

“It’s my first main event at 23 years old. I had a world of pressure on me and I came through. This to me is a world title fight. This was my dream and this was my destiny.”
As a result of his win, it has been confirmed by the World Boxing Council that Fury will now receive a ranking.
The WBC said: “With this win, Fury will be ranked in the World Boxing Council’s cruiserweight division, improving his record to 9-0, with 4 knockouts.”
