Manchester United finally saw Premier League points on the board as they beat Liverpool 2-1 at Old Trafford.
This result has come after back to back losses to Brighton and Brentford, with the Manchester United squad under intense scrutiny.
Erik ten Hag successfully saw off Jurgen Klopp’s men with Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho getting amongst the goals.

Speaking on how this fixture could boost the Red Devils, new signing Christian Eriksen told MUTV: "Hopefully this gives us a big boost towards the next games.
"I think the intensity (difference) compared to the Brentford game, obviously we made a few mistakes in that game, but today we started on the front foot.
"We were the better team in the first half. I think on the ball, the team could have done better than we did today, but in general, the intensity, getting on the level and playing to punish them how they play (was great).

"I think it started (togetherness) after losing two times. This week has been about coming together and getting back to the basics.
"We didn't do that against Brentford."
Goal scorer Sancho recognised what the players needed to show against Liverpool in order to win the fans over.
“Coming from last week’s performance, we knew today we had to show desire and belief," Sancho described to MUTV.

"I’m so glad that we got the three points today. Yeah, (there were good transitions) for sure, we’ve been working on that a lot this past week in training.
“It showed today, but now it’s about keeping this momentum and doing this every week.
“From pre-season, we knew it (Ten Hag’s style) was going to be intense. As players, we’re happy to play this style. We’re very young, we’re energetic, so we can produce these types of performances. Coming from the loss last week, it hit us hard.

We had to turn it around and we have to keep to this momentum now, as I’ve said. To be fair, I’ve been in those situations (before the goal) many times. Once I chopped inside, I knew I needed to keep cool. I saw the gap and I trusted myself to finish it.
“You have to compose yourself and be calm."
Manchester United now sit in 14th place in the table, jumping six spots after starting game week three dead last.
