Manchester United’s first away game of the season sees the Red Devils travel down to London to take on Brentford.
United’s trip to Brentford will mean that new signing Christian Eriksen returns to his former club, whom he played for last season.
Here is a look at both sides’ form heading into Saturday evening’s clash at the Brentford Community Stadium.
Manchester United
United’s pre-season saw some impressive results, with a 4-0 win against Liverpool in Thailand arguably the highlight. Overall, United won three, drew two and lost once.

The one preseason defeat came against Atletico Madrid in Oslo. A second-half goal by Joao Felix meant United lost 1-0, although it was still a good performance overall by the Red Devils.
United’s final preseason game ended 1-1 against Rayo Vallecano at Old Trafford. A second-half goal from Amad was cancelled out by Rayo winger Alvaro Garcia.
However, the game provided Ten Hag with a good opportunity to give minutes to certain players.

United’s season got off to the worst possible start last Sunday at Old Trafford. Brighton ran out 1-2 winners over the Red Devils in Erik ten Hag’s first game in charge.
Two first-half goals from Pascal Gross saw Brighton over the line, despite United pulling one back in the second half through an own goal from Alexis Mac Allister.
However, it was a disappointing performance to kick off the season, and Ten Hag’s Old Trafford reign. Saturday’s trip to London provides the perfect opportunity to bounce back with a win.
The Opposition: Brentford
Brentford’s preseason saw them win two games and lose two games. In both the first and last game, they beat Boreham Wood and Real Betis 2-0 and 1-0 respectively.

However, they lost 2-1 away to German side Stuttgart and were well beaten 4-0 away to another German side, Wolfsburg, which meant their preseason saw them get mixed results overall.
Last Saturday, Brentford drew their first Premier League game of the season 2-2 away to Leicester City.
Brendan Rodger’s side seemed to be heading towards all three points at the King Power Stadium, and at 2-0 up after an hour, were cruising.
Advert
With less than an hour left, Brentford managed to pull a goal back through striker Ivan Toney. It took an exceptional 86th minute goal from Josh Dasilva to equalise late on for Thomas Frank’s side and earn them a point.
Brentford will no doubt be looking to build on their result against Leicester when they face United on Saturday evening.
It is sure to make for an exciting affair, with both sides undoubtedly keen to get their first win of the season.
