NRL fans have called on Hollywood superstar Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson to get behind Samoa ahead of the Ruby League World Cup final against Australia.
Samoa produced a historic win over hosts England in the semi-final, becoming only the sixth nation to ever qualify for a World Cup final.
They overturned a mammoth 60-6 loss to the England side in the opening game of the tournament.

Now, rugby league fans are calling on the legendary Samoan to rally behind the nation in the final.
One fan slid into Dwayne’s DM’s to give The Rock the good news.
He wrote: “Hey Rock, long time no see. Hope you're doing well.

“Not sure if you know but Samoa have made history by making it to the Rugby League World Cup final for the very first time.
“Reckon you could [give] them a big 'CHEEHOO' for luck? Anyway, take care mate. Maybe catch up over Christmas?”
Cheehoo is an expression of celebration and excitement originating in Samoa and is also popular in Hawaii.

Another fan wrote: “The Rock give the usos Toa Samoa a shout-out for the RLWC 2021 World Cup final. Cheeeehoooooooo.”
Another said: “Good morning. This Sunday, Samoa will compete in the Rugby World Cup against Australia. Everyone would greatly appreciate it if you gave the boys a proper send-off.
“Thank you, DJ, for being a beacon of inspiration.”
Even footy legend Beau Ryan was getting in on the act, having worked with the 50-year-old star back in his days on The Footy Show.
He tweeted: “Letting the big uso The Rock know that Samoa are into the World Cup Final for the first time. Cheeehoooo.”

Johnson is the son of Ata and Rocky Johnson, with his mother coming from Samoa and father of Black Nova Scotian heritage.
He also played the fictional Polynesian character Maui in Disney movie Moana.
The character was partly inspired by his late grandfather, High Chief Peter Maivia of Samoa.
