An Olympian who won gold at the 2020 Olympics and the 2024 Olympics has compared them side-by-side after an athlete shared the shocking state of his medal just one week after winning it.
Skateboarder Nyjah Huston was among Team USA's bronze medal winners at the Paris Games.
Huston, however, criticised the quality of his medal as he revealed that a week after placing third in the men's street skateboarding, his bronze medal had visibly deteriorated.
"These Olympic medals look great when they are brand new but after letting it sit on my skin with some sweat and letting friends wear it over the weekend, they are apparently not as high quality as you would think," he told his followers on social media.

Turning the bronze medal over, the American added: "Even the front is starting to chip off a little. Olympic medals - maybe got to step up the quality a little bit."
Danish badminton player Viktor Axelsen, who won gold in Tokyo and Paris, has compared his gold medals against one another in a recent post on social media.
And people online immediately noticed a stark difference.
Axelsen took to X to show off his gold medals before turning them both over, with fans hailing the Tokyo medal.

His latest medal was subjected to criticism and was even compared to a 'chocolate wrapper'.
One X user wrote: "The Tokyo one looks expensive... meanwhile the Paris just meh."

A second added: "The Tokyo medal looks much better because there’s simply more gold. Gold by itself is attractive."
A third said: "Tokyo one looks better."
A fourth chipped in: "Tokyo olympic medals are better."
Another joked: "Tokyo looks lovely from behind... Paris looks like a chocolate wrapper."

While both gold medals are a thing of beauty, the Tokyo medal just stands out way more than the Paris medal.
