Some lads have put together the ultimate cardio test with the latest sporting invention in the form of obstacle course swimming.
And people are going nuts for it.
The old saying goes ‘If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it’, but that certainly doesn’t seem to be the case with this.

For many, simply swimming 50 metres can be a trek in itself, however, some inventive and frankly ambitious lads have taken the sport to another level.
Footage emerged on Twitter of a swimming course that looks equal parts fun and exhausting, with obstacles that force swimmers to jump across platforms, swim for extended periods of time underwater, and jump and dive over various objects.
It looks awesome.

Four-time Obstacle Racing World Champion Amelia Boone tweeted: “Found my next sport.”
One Twitter user said: “How much fun does this look?”
Whilst another pointed out the obvious, tweeting: “Australia would dominate this as a sport!”
Meanwhile, another tweeted out what we were probably all thinking, saying: “I got tired just looking at this s**t.”

American swimmer and twitter’s biggest swimming fan Kyle Sockwell was also fully on board with the sport.
He tweeted: “They should add this as an exhibition event at NCAAs.”
That would definitely be a fun way to cap off the NCAA events.
However, there were others who weren’t too impressed.

One user tweeted: “So another ‘sport’ invented for all those who couldn’t make it in the real sport. Awesome, let’s all get a trophy!”
Well, someone certainly woke up on the wrong side of the bed.
With how sports are evolving, don’t be surprised if this sort of race is in the Olympics in the future - especially with other obstacle sports being considered.

The iconic Ninja Warrior obstacle course could be set to feature in the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.
Tokyo Broadcasting System (TBS) revealed they are working with several partners to test whether the course would be a fit for the fifth discipline of the Modern Pentathlon at the games, according to Deadline.
The Union Internationale de Pentathlon Moderne (UIPM) is working with TBHS, World Obstacle, and the Fédération Internationale de Sports d’Obstacles (FISO) on the proposal.
The Modern Pentathlon format includes fencing, swimming, equestrian show jumping, laser pistol shooting, and running. However, the UIPM announced in May they would be looking at replacing the riding disciple.
The test competition took place in Ankara, Turkey, following the conclusion of the UIPM 2022 Pentathlon World Cup Final.
