Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs have the chance to make history at Super Bowl LXI on February 9, and there has been speculation that the veteran tight end could retire after the game.
The Chiefs have the opportunity to become the first team in NFL history to win three successive Super Bowl titles – a feat not even Tom Brady and the New England Patriots managed during their dynastic prime.
And Kelce – who already lays claim to several post-season records relating receiving yards and touchdowns – has the chance to eclipse legendary wide receiver Jerry Rice as the most receptions in the history of the NFL's showpiece game (33).

There has been much speculation lately that Kelce, 35, could call time on his storied career after Kansas City's showdown with the Philadelphia Eagles in New Orleans.
But, speaking on the Stephen A Smith show, Kelce poured cold water on any claims that he's about to call it quits.
'I love everything that I'm doing … but at the end of the day, I'm not having that extreme success on the field,' Kelce said. 'I'm excited for these next couple of games … to finish this season off.

'I'll re-evaluate it like I always do, [and] I'll probably tell myself how much I love this thing, and I'll come back next year.'
Kelce also spoke about the support he has received from Taylor Swift, with the pop icon a regular attendee at his games since the pair began dating in 2023.
'She's fully encouraging me to enjoy playing this game,' Kelce told Smith, adding, 'I got all the support in the world to keep chasing these dreams.'

However, former NFL quarterback and ESPN analyst Dan Orlovski believes that a Super Bowl win against the Eagles could see Kelce walk off into the sunset.
"Kelce is fully capable of being the difference-maker. I think he's got one great run left," Orlovsky said.
"I think if he goes and has that vintage Kelce performance, which I fully, one, think he's capable of, and two, will do, and they go on and three-peat, I think retirement becomes a very real thing for Travis Kelce.
"There would be nothing else to accomplish. He'd be arguably the greatest tight end of all time. He would be the tight end that was part of [Chiefs] only three-peat in the history of the NFL."
