Taylor Swift reacts to Travis Kelce's controversial Donald Trump comment ahead of the Super Bowl

Taylor Swift reacts to Travis Kelce's controversial Donald Trump comment ahead of the Super Bowl

The Kansas City Chiefs will take on the Philadelphia Eagles.

Taylor Swift's reaction to boyfriend Travis Kelce saying it will be an 'honour' to play at the Super Bowl in front of President Donald Trump has become clear after the controversial comment.

Kelce and his Kansas City Chiefs NFL team will take on the Philadelphia Eagles at Super Bowl LIX this weekend at the Caesars Superdrome in New Orleans.

The encounter is a direct rematch of Super Bowl LVII which the Chiefs won and it will see Kelce's side aim to win their third Super Bowl on the bounce.

The Chiefs beat the San Francisco 49ers 25-22 last year, while emerged on top against the Eagles 38-35 the season before.

Chiefs tight end Kelce has been dating Swift since 2023 and speculation has grown in recent months that he could even be getting ready to pop the question to the global pop star and propose.

Should the Chiefs beat the Eagles, it will mean Kelce would become a Super Bowl champion for the fourth time.

This weekend will be the first Super Bowl new US President Trump has attended since beginning his second term in office after winning the November 2024 election ahead of incumbent vice president Kamala Harris.

Kelce has addressed the prospect of playing in front of the new President and vowed it will be an 'honour' to do so.

Speaking ahead of the Super Bowl, Kelce said: "'It's awesome. It's a great honour, I think no matter who the President is.

"I'm excited because it's the biggest game of my life and having the President there, it's the best country in the world so it's pretty cool."

The reaction of Kelce's girlfriend Swift has now emerged and, according to an insider, the pop star has no issue with Kelce's comments, despite the controversy which surrounds President Trump.

Swift is said to be 'not angry' over the comments and that though it might have been interpreted that Kelce is a Trump supporter, this is not the case and not what her boyfriend categorically said.

According to the Daily Mail, a source said: "Taylor is not angry at Travis for what he said. Although Travis’s quote was taken as he supports Trump, this is not what Travis said at all.

"He never actually even said the word Trump. Travis was speaking on behalf of his entire team and all of his fans when he said it is an honor to have the President of the United States at the game and he would have said the same thing regardless of who the president was.

"So no, there is no fight, no argument and no blowout over this. Taylor is just so proud of Travis and cannot wait to be there to support him.

"Cheering him on has become so exciting for her. Taylor is Travis's biggest cheerleader."
