Golden State Warriors point guard Steph Curry has taken the NBA by storm since his debut season in 2009-10 but one of the league's greatest ever players won't have been surprised.
LeBron James watched Curry on the court before the Ohioan was drafted by the Warriors, catching him in action for Davidson College in a game in December 2008.
Curry's performance had James out of his courtside seat that night and the NBA legend was visibly taken aback by what he saw.

Now 37 and the highest-paid player in the NBA, young Curry clearly enjoyed what he'd done in front of the man who would be named the NBA's Most Valuable Player that season, stifling a grin as he peeled away after a stunning three-pointer.
He might even have stolen a glance at LeBron for good measure.
"Think he'll be good in the league?" James was asked after Curry's now-famous display for Davidson.

"I think so," he answered.
"He knows how to play the game of basketball, being a son of a former NBA player Dell Curry he was taught well how to play.
"He has the talent. He's good, he's good. I was impressed."
History has proven James correct on all counts.

Curry and the Warriors have been NBA champions four times in the last decade and the widely admired point guard has been the best-paid player in the league for the past eight seasons, earning a cool $55,761,216 in 2024-25.
Only Kevin Durant and 'King' James himself have achieved higher career earnings than the Akron-born Golden State legend, who once described James as "amazing" during an NBA Finals series won emphatically by the Warriors.
James and Curry are both still active in the NBA, playing for the LA Lakers and the Warriors respectively as the 2025 NBA playoffs start to really get rolling.

Golden State lead their Western Conference first round series against the Houston Rockets by two games to one but the Lakers are on the brink of elimination.
James and his team-mates narrowly lost Game Four of their series against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Sunday and trail by three games to one.
They play at home in a must-win Game Five on Wednesday.
