An old social media post from NBA star LeBron James has resurfaced after the shocking Los Angeles Lakers trade for Luka Doncic.

NBA fans and players are still reeling from the trade, and in the wake of the shock move an old tweet from basketball great James has resurfaced online.
Doncic has been labelled by many as a one-of-a-kind player who could go on to become one of the very best in the history of the sport, leading to the shock from Mavericks fans.
And it appears that James clocked the Slovenian's talents long before he will have the chance to play with him.

In May 2022, a NBA fan took to X to ask the four-time NBA champion who his favourite player in the league under the age of 25 was, and James didn't hesitate to name Doncic.
Replying to the fan, the Lakers star wrote: "LUKA. He's my fav player!!"
In return for allowing the young talent to move to the Lakers, the Mavericks have received Anthony Davis, a power forward who won the NBA title with the Lakers in 2020, along with guard Max Christie.

Previous rumours had suggested that part of the reason for Davis' departure was because James had become frustrated with playing alongside the 31-year-old.
But, after seeing a clip of the rumour being discussed on CBS Sports, James quickly shut it down with a blunt response.
Replying to the clip alongside Pinocchio and clown emojis on X, James wrote: "You a fkn lie!"
Instead, it is more likely that the Mavericks feel that they can use Davis' championship winning mentality and experience to help guide their side to their second NBA title.

Meanwhile the Lakers will see Doncic, who is just 25-years-old, as their next big superstar who can take on the mantle of the talisman of the side once 40-year-old James retires
