LeBron James has made his feelings clear on the LA Lakers signing Luka Doncic in the wildest trade in NBA history

LeBron James has made his feelings clear on the LA Lakers signing Luka Doncic in the wildest trade in NBA history

The Lakers' star man has already made his feelings clear on his team's new signing.

NBA legend and LA Lakers power forward LeBron James has already given his thoughts on his side’s new signing Luka Doncic.

James, 40, is still going strong and had a huge impact on the Lakers’ 128-112 victory against the New York Knicks on Saturday when he scored 33 points for the away team.

And he could soon link up with Doncic, 25, as the Slovenian is being traded by the Dallas Mavericks to the Los Angeles-based side for Anthony Davis in a huge NBA deal according to ESPN.

The report also claims that Maxi Kleber and Markieff Morris will arrive at the Lakers from the Mavericks. Max Christie will join Dallas alongside Davies.

While the Utah Jazz are also thought to be involved in the deal with the club to receive Jalen Hood-Schifino from LA.

"I believe that defence wins championships," Mavericks general manager Nico Harrison told ESPN's Tim MacMahon.

"I believe that getting an All-Defensive centre and an All-NBA player with a defensive mindset gives us a better chance. We're built to win now and in the future."

What is LeBron James’ opinion on his new teammate?

Well, according to the Mail James found out about the deal while he was out for dinner with his family following LA’s victory at Madison Square Garden on Saturday.

“James was surprised by the news, is processing it and had no idea it was in the works,” ESPN reporter Dave McMenamin said on X.

The 25-year-old former Real Madrid player has not featured since December 25, 2024 due to a calf strain.

The trade could be the start of a changing of the guard at the Lakers, as LeBron is in the twilight of his illustrious career in the NBA. The Lakers are set to take on the Mavericks on February 26, 2025.

James gave his thoughts on Doncic when speaking back in 2022.

“I love everything about his game,” James said. "I love everything about him. The way he plays the game reminds me of the way I play the game. We’re just triple threats. We rebound.

"We pass, which is the number one thing on our mind, trying to keep our teammates engaged and keeping our teammates feeling good on the floor, keeping our teammates in rhythm.

“And we will put 40 on you too if you disrespect us.”
