In a chaotic trade period for the Brooklyn Nets, stars Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving left in blockbuster moves.
And fans online have celebrated by trolling Aussie star Ben Simmons.
Poor Ben Simmons - it seemingly all goes to shambles at the Brooklyn Nets and he gets the blame.

To be fair, the Australian hasn’t done much to endear himself to the Nets fans or the NBA world itself since his ugly exit to the Philadelphia 76ers.
He’s failed to turn it on at the Nets despite raking in a reported US$35.4 million (A$50.8m) in a season where he’s average career low of 7.2 points per game and 6.4 rebounds.
The Brooklyn side thought they had their dynasty trio on hand following the acquisition of Durant, Irving, and Simmons.

However, it never came to fruition as the side was the knocked out in the first round of NBA playoffs in 2019/20 and 2021/22, and in the second round in 2020/21.
Off the court, Irving refused to get the Covid vaccine meaning he couldn’t play iany home games in New York last season.
And the controversy piled up last year when he was banned from the league for an anti-Semitic post.
Durant, to be fair to him, has starred for the Nets - but it became increasingly obvious that he was getting fed up with the team and lack of success when he requested a trade last year.

And now the Nets have lost two-thirds of that ‘dynasty trio’ with Irving traded to the Dallas Mavericks and Durant on his way to Phoenix Suns.
While Simmons, has largely struggled for form, and his trade value has significantly decreased.
This has led to plenty of fans to pile on the three-time NBA All-Star.
Sports Commentator Jonny Loquasto quipped “Following the Kevin Durant trade, Cam Thomas will now average 40 shots per game for the Nets while Ben Simmons will bump it up to 2.5”.

Musician DJ Homicide wrote: “Nets go from a big 3 to Ben Simmons and role players”.
