Belal Muhammad stuns Leon Edwards to win UFC welterweight title at UFC 304

Belal Muhammad scored the biggest win of his career at UFC 304.

Belal Muhammad stunned Leon Edwards to win the UFC welterweight title in the main-event of UFC 304.

Muhammed dominated Edwards to dethrone the Brit of the UFC welterweight championship in Manchester, England.

The judges scored the fight 48-47, 48-47 and 49-46 in favour of Muhammad, who registered his sixth win in a row in the UFC.

Muhammad got to work in the opening round, landing two big take downs. On the feet, Edwards marked up his opponent's body with a stinging body kick.

Muhammad continued to utilise his superior wrestling in the second round, completing not one but two takedowns and even slammed Edwards on his head in a brutal moment.

Edwards replied with his own takedown, briefly taking his back.

In the third round, Muhammad landed another take down and showed off his hands, picking Edwards apart in the striking exchanges.

However, Edwards controlled the round as he took his foe's back and attempted a couple of submissions but to no avail.

Muhammad found success on his feet in the fourth round and took his back.

He repeated his tactic in the final round, controlling Edwards, who finished with a late onslaught - opening a cut on Muhammad's head.
