Conor McGregor has lost an eye-watering sum of money in only one bet he placed on the fight between Michael Chandler and Paddy Pimblett.
The duo went head-to-head at UFC 314 in Miami on the event’s main card in a lightweight duel.
And Pimblett - known as 'Paddy the Baddy' - outclassed his opponent Chandler with a technical knockout in the third round following elbows and punches.

It means Pimblett has now moved into the top 10 of the UFC lightweight division with a title shot on the cards should his impressive rise continue.
Pimblett’s MMA record now stands at an impressive 23 victories from 26 fights and only three losses.
Chandler has now lost his last three fights in the UFC, with his overall MMA record standing at 23 wins from 33 matches and 10 defeats following the loss at the hands of Pimblett.

The 30-year-old Liverpudlian has named the likes of Charles Oliveira, Dustin Poirier and Justin Gaethje among those fighters he would like to face next in the Octagon.
He said: “I want to be a world champion and beating a former champion in Oliveira... he gets called the best submission artist the world has ever seen," said Pimblett.
“So I'd love to go up against that because I think I've got better submissions than him.
“These are all names etched in the history of the lightweight division - names people recognise and love - so beating them would be boss.”

One man who placed a bet on the fight was former UFC Featherweight and Lightweight champion McGregor, who has not fought in the Octagon since 2021.
The Notorious experienced back-to-back defeats that year at the hands of Poirier and a comeback welterweight fight against Chandler scheduled for last June was cancelled after McGregor suffered a broken toe.
McGregor’s MMA record stands at 22 wins from 28 matches, and six losses, three of which have come in his last four appearances in the Octagon.
The Notorious has amassed a fortune through his exploits both in and out of the UFC, and it has led to him being able to put bets on fights with amounts of money most of us can only dream about.

And that was no different for last night’s bout after he bet $500,000 on Chandler to win, which would have won him a cool $2.5m had it come off.
But of course, Pimblett won and the bookies kept the cash, with the victor not best pleased when he heard that McGregor had bet against him.
Speaking after the fight, he said: “Cheeky b***** cheeky little b******. The Scouse are meant to back each other.
“"I didn't expect that from Conor lad. If you want to come back, Con, I'm here, son.

“I'm waiting. I'll mufti you just like I have muftied Chandler. I don’t think he is coming back. He’s got enough money, he doesn’t need to come back.
“But if he does that, then the Baddy is waiting for him.”
