What Alex Pereira did directly after brutal knock out on Jiri Prochazka has fans stunned

Alex Pereira stunned fans with what he did.

Fans were left stunned by what Alex Pereira did seconds after brutally knocking out Jiri Prochazka at UFC 303.

Pereira and Prochazka stepped in at short notice to headline UFC 303 in Las Vegas after Connor McGregor pulled out of his headline fight with Michael Chandler with a broken toe earlier this month.

Pereira, 36, certainly didn't disappoint though, as he delivered a knockout high-kick early in the second round to retain his light-heavyweight title.

The Brazilian floored his Czech opponent, 31, with a a huge left hook seconds before the end of the first round, but the bell prevented any follow-up.

Prochazka was clearly left shaken and lasted just 13 seconds in the second round before Pereira delivered the knockout kick.

Pereira only made his UFC debut in November 2021, but in nine fights since then he has won two titles and made two defences to establish himself as one of the top fighters in the UFC stable.

Saturday's bout was Pereira's second victory against Prochazka after he defeated him in round two of their fight in November to win the light-heavyweight title.

The crowd inside the sold-out T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas was left stunned by the knock-out, but TV viewers were even more surprised by the way Pereira reacted after Prochazka hit the floor.

Rather than celebrating, the Brazilian's immediate thought was to check on his opponent. Pereira's concern for Prochazka impressed fans.

"Dude is lowkey a nice guy," one fan wrote on X, while another commented: "Lot of respect for Alex Pereira, you can tell he was concerned for Prochazka. Jiri could barely even stand up man he’s gonna need to take a long time off."

A third fan highlighted the contrast between Pereira's fighting style and personality, saying: "I haven't seen him talk bad about his arch-rival [Israel] Adesanya either. Dude might be the nicest and the baddest mf'er in the game."

Other fans noticed that Prochazka and the referee didn't expect Pereira's reaction, and thought he was going to land another blow on the Czech fighter while he was on the floor.

"Damn Jiri was up on his feet then saw Alex behind him and his legs gave out again," one fan wrote, while another commented: "Jiri looked at him [Pereira] and lost his footing again."
