The pressure may have been too much for many, especially in front of a crowd singing your name, but Della Maddalena proved he’s a welterweight contender in the making.
He caught the American with a right hook in the first round before catching him in a rear-naked choke to finish off his opponent.
It takes the Aussie’s record to 13 wins straight, further proving why he is the UFC Rookie of the Year for 2022.

Following the fight he was asked if he’d ever be fighting in such an arena in front of family and friends.
He answered emphatically: “I did. I f***ing did.”
Adding: “I was pumped. This is my octagon. When I get in there I’m cool as a cucumber.”
The welterweight wants someone in the top 15 for his next fight and it’d be hard to deny him.
