
US President Donald Trump has been slammed after opting to take a golf trip instead of attending an important event involving deceased American soldiers.
President Trump is in his second term in the White House after beating Kamala Harris in the US Presidential election towards the end of 2024.
His presidency began with immediate controversial actions, including pardoning some 1,500 people who were convicted of offences towards the end of his first term in office in an attack on the Capitol Building.

And he has also overseen the laying off of tens of thousands of federal workers in a bid to reduce spending.
President Trump has also taken action which has impacted the global economy with his imposition of tariffs on goods from other countries exported into the US.
British goods are now subject to a 10 per cent tax, while those from the European Union have been slapped with an extra 20 per cent to their prices and has led to a slump in global stock markets.

President Trump helped to make his name through buying and building golf courses, and buy 2016 he owned 17 around the world.
But his most recent visit to a golf course has caused controversy as President Trump opted to do so ahead of attending an important event involving deceased US servicemen.

Last month, four US soldiers who were on a training exercise in Lithuania were found dead after their armoured vehicle sank in a peat bog near the border with Belarus.

The four deceased soldiers have now been handed back over to American care Statement, but controversially President Trump was not at the ceremony honouring the quartet, but Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth instead attended.

This was because President Trump was not in Washington DC but at the LIV golf tournament held at Trump National Doral.
The decision has seen President Trump come under fire.
Taking to social media, lawyer Tristan Snell wrote: "This evening Trump was supposed to meet the families of 4 fallen US soldiers as their coffins return from Lithuania where they were killed in an accident. He cancelled.
"Instead he dined with Saudi golf execs and sponsors for a golf tournament at one of his resorts."

Zac Petkanas, former adviser to Hillary Clinton, said: "Trump is refusing to go to Dover Air Force Base. He's attending a golf dinner reception instead."
