Sergio Reguilon is set for an awkward reunion with Harry Maguire after his loan move to Manchester United is completed.
United have agreed terms with Tottenham on a temporary deal that will see the Spanish left-back move to Old Trafford for the rest of the season. Erik ten Hag's side have inserted a break clause into the deal that allows them to terminate the loan in January.
United acted quickly to sign a left-back after the muscular injury suffered by Luke Shaw, given that fellow full-back Tyrell Malacia is also out of action.

After links to Chelsea's Marc Cucurella and Barcelona's Marcos Alonso, Ten Hag has turned to Reguilon, who is out of favour at Spurs under Ange Postecoglou.
The 26-year-old will reunite with Maguire at United - two years on from when the pair had an awkward moment during a fixture between Spurs and United.

In April 2021, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side travelled to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for a Premier League fixture.
They won 3-1, with goals from Fred, Edinson Cavani and Mason Greenwood.
Son Heung-min had put Tottenham ahead in the 40th minute, but the hosts were unable to hold on.
Spurs' starting XI was much different to the one that current boss Ange Postecoglou put out against Bournemouth last weekend, with Reguilon among the starters at left-back.

For United, meanwhile, Maguire lined up alongside Victor Lindelof at centre-back.
But Maguire and Reguilon clearly didn't get on very well during the game. As per Manchester Evening News writer Samuel Luckhurst, Maguire shouted at the Spaniard: "Hey, Sergio: F**k off."
Whether either player remembers the interaction remains to be seen - but if one of them does, it may lead to an awkward first meeting between the new team-mates at Old Trafford.

Reguilon could make his debut for United against Arsenal on Sunday if he is registered before 12pm today. However, he lacks match fitness having failed to be named in a Tottenham matchday squad this season.
