Manchester United are plotting an audacious swap deal in the summer transfer window that involves Harry Maguire, according to reports.
The Red Devils are entering a new era with Oldham-born billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe, as the INEOS chief eyes major changes in the first team squad.
It has previously been reported that United will consider offers for all first team players - apart from the promising young talents of Alejandro Garnacho, Rasmus Hojlund and Kobbie Mainoo.
The club dropped to seventh place within the Premier League table on Saturday - without kicking a ball - as Newcastle United secured a dominant 4-1 victory over relegation battlers Burnley. Erik ten Hag's side were held to a 1-1 draw with the Clarets in their last outing.

It's clear that changes are needed after the 2023/24 season comes to an end - with the club now eyeing an ambitious swap deal involving England international Harry Maguire.
According to the Daily Star, the United defender is one of the players on the chopping block in the coming months and could be used to entice Everton into selling centre back Jarrad Branthwaite.
The 21-year-old is regarded as a top target for Ratcliffe and United this summer, as they look to add to the exciting young talents already at the club.

Branthwaite - who was recently called up to the senior England squad by Gareth Southgate - is valued at £70million by the Toffees, although United hope involving Maguire in the deal will lower the asking price. United believe the possible swap deal could knock up to £20m off the asking price.
Everton are eager to keep hold of the defender but could be forced into a sale given the financial difficulties at the club.
Maguire himself will also have a say in the deal, after previously refusing a move to West Ham United last summer.
