Jamie Carragher named “one player to keep an eye on” when asked who may replace Mohamed Salah at Liverpool.
On Thursday Liverpool extended their lead at the Premier League summit to seven points, after coming from behind to beat strugglers Leicester City 3-1.
Among the goalscorers was Salah, who slotted home his 19th in all competitions. The strike also took the attacker's goal involvements for the Premier League season to 27 (16 goals and 11 assists).

Of course, the Egyptian’s contract, which is set to expire at the end of the campaign, has been among the sub-plots of Liverpool’s season.
And Liverpool legend Carragher has named Bournemouth’s Antoine Semenyo as a potential Salah replacement, citing his historical relationship with Reds sporting director Richard Hughes, from their time together with the Cherries.
“I think Liverpool’s model is to go for those players a little under the radar,” Carragher told Sky Sports. “It’s not about, ‘Liverpool might lose Mo Salah, lets go and buy a superstar for £120million’. I don’t think that would be the case.

“Obviously they would want a quality player but they would be looking at the next upcoming thing, someone who is around the age of 23 or 24 who is getting really good numbers and has scope to improve.
“I think the problem with [Brentford’s Bryan] Mbuemo is that he has really over-performed his XG this season. So in some ways, sometimes, that’s a bit of a worry.
“When I think of how Liverpool look at players, if someone’s really over performing with those types of numbers you know there’s going to be a regression there at some stage and he’ll go back to the norm.

“But you mention Richard Hughes before, he’s going to Semenyo really well isn’t he so that might be one to keep an eye on.”
