Manchester United have reportedly made a key decision in deliberations over the future of Mason Greenwood beyond this summer.
Greenwood joined Spanish La Liga side Getafe on transfer deadine day in August, with the forward agreeing to a season-long loan deal.
That move happened weeks after United completed their internal investigation into Greenwood's behaviour, and determined that he would leave the club via mutual consent.

The 22-year-old was suspended by the club in January 2022 following his arrest on suspicion of rape and assault. He was then charged that October with attempted rape, engaging in controlling and coercive behaviour and assault. The charges were discontinued by the CPS last February, who stated that 'a combination of the withdrawal of key witnesses and new material that came to light meant there was no longer a realistic prospect of conviction'.
New United minority owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe was asked last month about whether there had been any change to United's stance on Greenwood, to which he replied that he and INEOS would make a 'fresh decision' on the forward's future, and that they would 'understand the facts not the hype' before coming to a 'fair decision on the basis of values'.
As things stand, the 22-year-old will return to Old Trafford at the conclusion of the season, in which he has scored six goals in 25 games for Getafe.

According to ESPN, United have not yet made a decision on whether to keep the forward at Old Trafford, or whether to sell him or loan him out again next season.
However, it is claimed that, according to sources, the club have ruled out a permanent transfer for Greenwood that would see him sold for significantly under their valuation. It is claimed that a sale is the club's 'preferred option'.
Reports over recent months have claimed that United's asking price has ranged between £17 and £30 million. Greenwood has been linked with moves to Barcelona and Atletico Madrid, among other clubs.
ESPN add that another loan deal is not off the table, with Greenwood's contract at the club due to expire at the end of next season. United do hold an optional 12-month extension as part of that deal that they are yet to trigger, the report states.
