Manchester United could face tough competition in the race to sign Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat.
Over the last few weeks, Amrabat has been heavily linked with a move to United as Erik ten Hag looks to improve his playing squad ahead of the 23/24 season.
It was reported that United have agreed personal terms with the Morrocan ahead of a move to England.

However, a move is yet to materialise and it has been reported that United could now face competition from clubs in Europe.
According to Spanish news outlet SPORT, via the Daily Express, La Liga giants Atletico Madrid have registered their interest in signing the midfielder.
It has also been claimed that Amrabat is interested in moving to Madrid in order to work under Atletico manager Diego Simeone.

Now, it is down to Atletico to agree a fee with Fiorentina for Amrabat. It is believed that an offer of £26 million could be enough but Fiorentina would ideally like to bank £34 million.
United have so far signed Mason Mount, Andre Onana and Rasmus Hojlund in the summer transfer window.
Ahead of the season, Red Devils boss Ten Hag said: “In one weekend, two times we are losing but you see this team have character and that’s what you need in a season as well.

“Sometimes you are down and then you have to show resilience and especially in such moments you need determination. We have shown that this weekend, it was a good weekend for us. Yesterday I thought it was a very good level, today I have seen also very good spells.”
He added: “I think the start of the game was also very good and we should have scored a goal to go up, because it was a great chance from Jadon Sancho.
“We had some good moments after that as well and it was stupid how we went down but as I said, we had a result and we came back so it was a good weekend for us.”
