Liverpool have suffered another transfer set-back with Andre Trindade likely to stay at Fluminense until January.
Despite having signed Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai and Wataru Endo this summer, the Reds have endured a difficult window, with midfield remaining the club’s most glaring weakness.
Upon the departures of Fabinho and Jordan Henderson to Saudi Arabia last month alongside Naby Keita, James Milner and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain all leaving in June , Liverpool lack depth in the centre of the pitch.

And Jurgen Klopp’s side have faced several set-backs in their attempts to bring in reinforcements. Earlier this month the Reds agreed a British transfer record fee of £111million with Brighton Moises Caicedo, only for the Ecuador international to sign for Chelsea instead.
To make matters worse Liverpool were then snubbed by Romeo Lavia, who also opted to join the Blues despite Southampton having agreed a £60million deal with the Merseyside club for the Belgian.
Indeed, Brazilian midfielder Andre is among the alternatives Liverpool have identified.
However, they have suffered a set-back in the pursuit of the 22-year-old, after the performance of his Fluminense side in the Copa Libertadores.

Andre was on the scoresheet as Fluminense claimed a 2-0 in the first leg of tie or Copa Libertadores quarterfinal against Olimpia.
Given the Rio-based side’s advantage in the competition, it is almost certain Andre will stay at the club until January, upon the conclusion of the Brazilian domestic season.
The second leg of the tie will be played just after the Premier League transfer window has shut, in the early hours of September 1.
Earlier this week Anfield Watch claimed that Liverpool already seen a bid worth £25.5million for Andre rebuffed this summer.

The publication added that Andre’s release clause is in advance of £68million, which is double the £34million that has been reported elsewhere.
Liverpool take on Newcastle at St James’ Park on Sunday, with Endo, Szoboszlai and Mac Allister likely to be Klopp’s midfield three for the game.
