Former Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson is reportedly closing in on a deal to leave Dutch side Ajax.
The 34-year-old called time on his Liverpool career back in 2023 in favour of a big-money move to Saudi Pro League side Al Ettifaq.
By moving to Saudi Arabia, the midfielder played under former teammate and Reds legend Steven Gerrard, and was also reunited with ex-Liverpool teammate Georginio Wijnaldum.

However, the Englishman's time in the Middle East lasted only six months as he made a swift return to European football by signing for Dutch giants Ajax in January of 2024.
Henderson has largley struggled in Amsterdam, making 31 appearances across all competitions this season and has failed to score or assist.
With just days left of the 2025 January transfer window, it has been claimed that Henderson is on the move again.
Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano wrote on social media: "EXCLUSIVE: AS Monaco are closing in on deal to sign Jordan Henderson from Ajax as new midfielder!

"Permanent move almost agreed on contract until June 2026. Here we go, soon."
Henderson first moved to Liverpool back in 2011 when he was signed from boyhood club Sunderland by Kenny Dalglish.
From then on, Henderson became one of the most successful captains in Liverpool's history, lifting the UEFA Champions League, Premier League, UEFA Super Cup, FIFA Club World Cup, FA Cup, League Cup and the FA Community Shield.

In total, Henderson made 492 appearances for Liverpool across all competitions, scoring 33 goals.
After receiving backlash for ditching European football for Saudi Arabia, Henderson said during an interview with The Athletic: "People will see this club come with loads of money and he’s just gone, “Yeah, I’m going.” When in reality that just wasn’t the case at all.
"People can believe me or not, but in my life and my career, money has never been a motivation. Ever.
"Don’t get me wrong, when you move, the business deal has to be tight. You have to have financials, you have to feel wanted, you have to feel valued. And money is a part of that. But that wasn’t the sole reason. And these possibilities came up before money was even mentioned."
