David Ornstein has dropped a major update on the future of Harry Kane amid interest from Bayern Munich.
On Monday Spurs rejected a third proposal from Bayern for Kane after seeing bids in June and July also turned down.
And writing in the Athletic transfer guru Ornstein explained that talks between Bayern and Tottenham for Kane continued on Monday night.

However, as things stand, there remains a gap in their valuations, with the England captain reportedly leaning towards staying at Tottenham.
Bayern’s interest in Kane remains, and the player could leave on a free transfer next summer, with only 12 months left on his contract.
Kane is allegedly reluctant to move once the new season has started, with Spurs currently preparing for Sunday's Premier League opened against Brentford.
According to Ornstein, Kane has enjoyed working under new boss Ange Postecoglou in pre-season, with the Australian’s attacking brand of football said to be an appeal.

Kane has featured in the club’s summer tour of Australia and Singapore and scored four goals in a 5-1 victory against Shakhtar Donetsk on Sunday.
The Tottenham boss said last month he didn't want Kane's transfer saga to drag on. Postecoglou said: “I think, for everyone concerned, we don’t want to be doing it for too long. I don’t think that is good for anyone.”
And after the weekend's Shakhtar friendly, Postecoglou admitted he was in “open dialogue” with Kane and the club about Kane's future.

However, the Australian added: “We can’t wait (around) for a decision either way to get going. We don’t have the time or the luxury to do that. You saw today that Harry certainly is invested in what we’re doing and we’ll keep on doing that unless something changes.”
It has been widely reported Bayern would have to bid £100million to sign Kane, some £25million more than their latest offer.
Indeed, Sky Sports' Kaveh Solhekol said: "That bid was worth around €100million, which I think is around £85million. Now we told you that was not going to be enough. £85million is not enough.
"It would take at least £100million for Spurs to be tempted to sell Harry Kane.

"So that is the latest but as far as the player is concerned, he's made it very clear - 'Sort my future out this week.'"
