Arsenal player 'agrees deal to leave the club' with hours to go on deadline day

One Arsenal star is set to leave the club.

One Arsenal star has reportedly agreed a deal to leave the Emirates Stadium with just an hour left in the transfer window.

On Sunday afternoon, the Gunners produced their best performance of the season as they battered reigning champions Manchester City in the Premier League.

In front of a jubilant crowd inside the Emirates Stadium, goals from Martin Odegaard, Thomas Partey, Myles Lewis-Skelly, Kai Havertz and Ethan Nwaneri sealed a massive 5-1 win for Mikel Arteta's men.

As a result, Arsenal are now only six points adrift of league leaders Liverpool.

Despite the injury to Gabriel Jesus and Bukayo Saka, Arsenal have failed to bring in an attacker in the January transfer window.

It was then claimed that one Arsenal star had agreed a deal to leave the club at the end of the season.

According to The Metro, reports in Italy have claimed that midfielder Jorginho has signed a pre-contract with Flamengo.

Speaking earlier in the month, Jorginho was asked about his future and is set to end his eight-year stay in the Premier League with the current season draws to a close.

He said: "My contract is until June and my goal now is to think about the next game, which is in three days. There’s not much to think about, you know?

"Things happen very quickly in football, things can happen overnight, but my mind is on the next game."

Jorginho added: "Football is a box of surprises, as we all know, but my goal is to think about the next game. I don’t even look, because it always happens. Every window that opens is always crazy, with a lot of information, a lot of things, a lot of talk.

"But if you stop to think about all the talk you always have, then you end up wasting a lot of energy and it ends up affecting your work where you are. So my goal, as I said before, is to focus on where I am, which is here today, so that’s it."

Arsenal are back in action on Wednesday night when they take on Newcastle United in the semi-final of the Carabao Cup.
