Liverpool target Marco Asensio’s contract talks with Real Madrid have stalled as he’s ‘waiting to see’ if an offer comes in for him.
Asensio’s deal is set to expire in the summer of 2023 and the attacking midfielder has been locked in negotiations with Los Blancos about a renewal.
However, these talks are said to have not gone well, sparking interest from a host of European clubs, including the likes of AC Milan and Liverpool.

The 26-year-old has not responded positively to the Madrid side’s proposal and he is now awaiting offers from clubs such as the Reds before making a decision.

Despite Milan showing genuine interest, it’s believed that the Serie A champions’ manager, Stefano Pioli, is favouring a move for Sassuolo’s Deomenico Berardi instead.
This opens the door for Liverpool to move as the frontrunners for this deal.
According to TuttoMercatoWeb, Real Madrid will accept an offer in the region of €25-30 million and the player will demand an annual salary of €7 million.
However, he is ready to lower these demands if he is sold on a ‘valid and convincing project’.

The same publication reports that Milan could still be in the race for Asensio as they have held positive talks with his agent, Jorge Mendes.
However, due to financial restraints on the Italian club, they have not yet offered in excess of €15 million and are not expected to.
Real Madrid are supposedly more willing to offload the former Mallorca man to a Premier League club and the only English side reported to have substantiated interest is Liverpool.

If no contract can be agreed upon between the two parties, it’s thought that Real president Florentino Perez is in a ‘hurry’ to move Asensio on this summer and will sell him ‘immediately’.
The 28-time-capped Spaniard has spent six years in the Spanish capital, managing 235 appearances for the Champions League winners, scoring 49 goals.
The 2021/22 campaign represented his most prolific in a white shirt, scoring 12 times in 42 appearances across all competitions.
