Manchester United are poised to make a mammoth £85 million bid for a Real Madrid star described as their "most important player".
United are set to bring in a number of reinforcements in the summer window as they look to improve on what has been a season to forget in the Premier League.
Lying in 13th and in desperate need of winning the Europa League to qualify for next season's Champions League, the Red Devils are expected to ring the changes in the summer with plenty of incomings and outgoings.
A number of players continue to be linked with a move to Old Trafford and fresh reports in Spain say that they are weighing up stunning €100 million (£85 million) move for Real star Federico Valverde.
Valverde is one of the first names on the teamsheet for the 15-time European champions and has showed incredible versatility by playing in a number of midfield roles, as well as on the right wing and at right-back.

Man United prepared to splash out for Valverde
Though he has a contract with Real until 2029 and remains an important part of Carlo Ancelotti's side, Fichajes say that United see him as a "key player in their new project" and believe a deal would not only "strengthen the team in the short term, but also to establish a solid foundation for the future".
The United top brass view him as a "player with leadership and potential" but it remains to be seen whether Real would be willing to sell one of their valuable assets.
Vini Jr, one of the superstars in Real's team, has described Valverde as "the important player in our squad" and said he does "everything in a fantastic way”.
Meanwhile, after a sensational performance in the Champions League round of 16 second leg against Atletico Madrid, Ancelotti said he had "no words" to describe Valverde and added that he "has contributed a lot to the team".
Valverde joined Real from Penarol in 2016 and initially played in the Castilla (reserve) outfit before going on to make 305 appearances, winning three La Liga titles and two Champions Leagues.
