Real Madrid have responded to Manchester United’s move for Eduardo Camavinga by offering him a €1billion (£870million) contract extension.
Last week Spanish publication Fichajes claimed United are "pining” to sign Camavinga, and willing to pay up to £115million to secure his services.
The France international signed a six-year deal with Los Blancos in the summer of 2021 following a £27million move from Rennes and has since become a central part of Real’s midfield.

And with United hoping to add to their midfield options in the summer, Camavinga is thought to be one of Erik ten Hag’s main targets.
However, Fichajes stressed that though United are willing to pay an enormous fee for the 20-year-old, Real would “not even contemplate” his departure.

The Athletic’s Mario Cortegana claimed Real have opened preliminary talks with Camavinga over a new deal with a potential €1billion release clause.
Negotiations are allegedly at a very early stage but the intention is to offer the youngster an additional two or three years while increasing his salary.
Moreover, the extension would also feature the same £870million release clause that was also included in Eder Militao, Rodrygo and Vinicius Junior's contracts agreed last summer.
Ancelotti recently spoke of Camavinga’s importance to his squad and the midfielder’s outlook and commitment away from the pitch.
