Man Utd 'make contact' with Real Madrid player and want to make him Ruben Amorim's first signing

Man Utd 'make contact' with Real Madrid player and want to make him Ruben Amorim's first signing

He is said to be 'flattered' by the interest.

Manchester United have 'expressed their interest' in a member of Carlo Ancelotti's Real Madrid side, according to reports in Spain. who say the player is 'flattered' by the news.

We are just days into Ruben Amorim's reign as Manchester United manager and the transfer rumour mill is already in full swing as he prepares to take charge of his first game against Ipswich Town.

Earlier this week, it was reported that United want to sign a new left-back for Amorim’s new system in 2025, with Alphonso Davies and Milos Kerkez being linked with a move to Old Trafford.

Pedro Porro, who built an 'excellent' relationship with Amorim during his time at Sporting, has also been linked following a strong start to the Premier League campaign with Tottenham Hotspur.

And now, a report has emerged that suggests United have 'made contact' with the intermediaries of Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga.

Camavinga, who has already won two Champions League titles during a trophy-laden three-year spell in Madrid, is said to be 'flattered' by the interest, according to Bernabeu Digital.

But the somewhat ambitious approach has been deemed unsuccessful as the French midfielder is intent on remaining at Real Madrid for 'many more years'.

In more positive news for United fans, the report claims that United's board are ‘willing to take out the cheque book’ and back Ruben Amorim with new signings.

It was suggested earlier this month that Amorim will operate on a more modest budget compared to Erik ten Hag, who spent more than £600 million during his two-and-a-half year tenure.

Joshua Zirkzee, Matthijs de Ligt, Noussair Mazraoui, Leny Yoro and Manuel Ugarte arrived in the summer, which required a total spend of around £200 million.

A report from The Telegraph suggested that United would be 'unlikely to be particularly active' in the January transfer window unless an opportunity presents itself, after Amorim was tasked with 'maximising the untapped potential in the squad'.

United's hierarchy believe the current squad are capable of delivering more on the pitch, and two players mentioned in the report are Rasmus Hojlund and Mason Mount.

In regards to players deemed 'not for sale', the trio of Alejandro Garnacho, Kobbie Mainoo and Hojlund are strictly off limits.
