With Manchester United already planning for life after Cristiano Ronaldo, their search for a replacement has reportedly led them to the Bundesliga.
While you might expect the 37-year-old's replacement to be someone of Erling Haaland's ilk, a new report suggests that the club will instead turn their attention to Bayern Munich man Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, the former Stoke City and PSG forward.
Having impressed this term for the Bavarian giants, scoring eight goals in all competitions so far, French outlet Media Foot claim that United are 'seriously considering' a move for him.

The Cameroon international is not a guaranteed starter for Bayern, but when called upon this season, he has most certainly delivered - providing goals in the absence of Robert Lewandowski.
According to Media Foot (via Express), Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag is a big fan of Choupo-Moting's versatility and experience.
The forward is something of a late bloomer, arguably playing the best football of his career at the ripe old age of 33.

Having moved almost exclusively on free transfers for much of his nomadic career, he seems now to have found a club in which he is comfortable and confident.
With Choupo-Moting once again available on a free next summer, he could offer United a cheap solution to their goalscoring issues, as well as an effective replacement for Ronaldo - as wild as that may seem to those who remember his spell at Stoke City.
While Ronaldo's exit from the club is far from confirmed, the legendary goalscorer has made his feelings known this season, requesting to leave Old Trafford on several occasions.

He notably left the stadium early during United's 2-0 home win over Spurs last month, in what was yet another indication of his growing dissatisfaction with life under Ten Hag.
Rumoured to be interested in Ronaldo are Serie A high-flyers Napoli, fresh from topping their Champions League group ahead of United's great rivals, Liverpool.
Moving to Naples would allow the Portuguese superstar to play in Europe's premier competition once again, and in doing so, extend his record for goals scored in the competition.

Its unclear whether a move to southern Italy could take place in January, as crucially, Choupo-Moting doesn't become a free agent until next summer.
For the time being, Ronaldo's focus will be on the upcoming FIFA World Cup, where he'll be aiming to win his first ever Jules Rimet Trophy.
