Manchester United are considering offering Harry Maguire to Chelsea as part of an exchange deal for Mason Mount, according to reports.
The Red Devils have emerged as frontrunners to sign Mount this summer and are said to have already agreed personal terms with the midfielder.
Indeed, Chelsea will need to cash in on the 24-year-old before his contract expires next year, but they are demanding a fee in the region of £70 million.

While United are unwilling to meet their asking price in full, they could use club captain Maguire to help fund a move, claim The Sun.
The 30-year-old has become surplus to requirements under Erik ten Hag, making just eight starts in the Premier League.
While the United boss is reportedly willing to subsidise his wages at an extra cost in order to get him off Old Trafford's book.

Maguire, who cost £80 million four years ago, is reportedly valued at £30 million by the cub, despite his drop in form.
Therefore, United could offer Chelsea a player-plus-cash deal to land Mount which includes Maguire and £40m.
It remains to be seen whether the Blues would be interested in such a deal, having already acquired left-sided centre-backs Benoit Badiashile and Levi Colwill.
However, incoming Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino previously tried to sign Maguire when he was still playing for Hull City, although Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy overruled the decision, with the England international joining Leicester instead.

Ten Hag recently said Maguire "has a decision to make" regarding his future and the pair are expected to discuss his next step after the FA Cup final against Manchester City.
While Rio Ferdinand urged the defender to seek out a new challenge, stating: "Harry Maguire has to look for a new option other than if he's happy to be 3rd or 4th choice."
Maguire has also been linked with a move to West Ham as part of an exchange deal for Declan Rice, with Ten Hag eager to use his fringe players as bargaining power in the transfer market.
