Reported Liverpool target Youssouf Fofana has made an admission about his future steps amid speculation that he could leave Monaco this summer.
The 24-year-old has had a superb season at the French club, starting all bar one of the Ligue 1 games he has been available for Philippe Clement's side.
He is the highest-ranked Monaco midfielder for both average interceptions and clearances per game in Ligue 1 (via WhoScored) and has also chipped in with two goals and two assists.

He was named in France's World Cup squad to travel to Qatar, and played in six of the seven matches for Didier Deschamps' side. Fofana put in an impressive display during the 2-0 win over Morocco in the semi-final.
His performances have attracted the attention of clubs in England, with the Daily Mail claiming that Liverpool and Chelsea are among the clubs interested in signing the defensive midfielder.
Now, he has opened up on his future.
Fofana makes transfer admission
In an interview quoted by the London Evening Standard, Fofana refused to rule out a potential departure from Monaco this summer, and described what it would mean to him to play alongside more top players.

He explained: "Monaco is a great club in France and Europe. A lot of big clubs come here to find players and we are all aware of this.
"If it is the right opportunity or moment [to leave], I can't say. I don't know. But we are doing things the right way here at the moment.
"I have already played with top players, but if one day I can play with more big names then it will be a pleasure and mean I have performed well."
Liverpool have had transfer dealings with Monaco in the past, sealing a move for Fabinho for an initial fee of £39.7 million.

They attempted to do business with the French club again last summer, but missed out on the signing of fellow defensive midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni to Real Madrid. However, they could manage to secure a deal for his compatriot instead this time around.
