Liverpool target Khephren Thuram 'liked' an Instagram post about Dominik Szoboszlai taking the club’s iconic No.8 shirt.
This weekend Liverpool completed the signing of Szoboszlai from RB Leipzig for £60million, with the midfielder signing a five-year contract until 2028.
Newcastle had also been interested in the Hungarian international but dropped out of the race once Szoboszlai made clear his desire to move to Anfield.

Subject to a work permit, the 22-year-old will become Liverpool's second signing of the summer after the arrival of Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton for an initial £35million.
Liverpool are navigating the biggest shake-up of Jurgen Klopp’s tenure, with the midfield a particular priority.
Having secured deals for Mac Allister and Szoboszlai, Liverpool are reportedly interested in France midfielder Thuram.

This weekend, Thuram liked ‘433’s’ Instagram post about Szoboszlai's inheriting Liverpool’s No.8 shirt, which was previously worn by club legend Steven Gerrard.
According to journalist Rudy Galetti Liverpool are moving with speed to lure Thuram to the club due to growing interest from Newcastle.
The Merseysiders have reportedly been in talks to sign Thuram for some time and they want to close the gap with Nice, who have been demanding around £38.6million for the youngster.

Meanwhile, Ouest-France (via Paisley-Gates) has claimed Thuram is ‘closer’ than compatriot Manu Kone to a move to Liverpool in the summer transfer window.
Thuram has made 138 appearances for Nice across all competitions since 2019, scoring eight goals and assisting 11 times.
While he is a No.8, Thuram can also operate in the defensive midfielder role.

Speaking to LFCTV upon his Anfield move, Szoboszlai explained his decision to take up the No. 8 shirt.
“Not [for] a special reason, but of course it’s a great number,” he said. “A lot of great players had this number.
“And also I have a tattoo from Steven Gerrard, what he said – I don’t even remember when but before – so it was also a reason why.”
Tattooed on Szoboszlai's arm is a Gerred quote, which reads: “Talent is a divine blessing, but without incredible will and humility, it is worth nothing.”
