Liverpool are considering a summer move for one of the best young midfielders in Serie A, according to reports in Italy.
Liverpool's midfield struggles this season are well documented, with the Reds badly in need of reinforcements in the summer window.
Jurgen Klopp has made Jude Bellingham his number one transfer target, with Liverpool at the front of the queue to sign the Borussia Dortmund star.

But the Reds are seemingly lining up potential alternatives to the England international, who could cost upwards of £120m this summer.
Reports in Italy claim Liverpool are considering an approach for Inter Milan midfielder Nicolo Barella, who is likely to cost significantly less than Bellingham when the transfer window opens.
According to La Repubblica, Liverpool are plotting a move for the Italian, who is said to be valued by the Serie A champions in the region of £60m.

The 24-year-old, who was part of Italy's triumphant Euro 2020 squad, still has three years left on his deal at San Siro.
But Inter Milan could be forced to sell this summer, with the club in a precarious financial position.
Lukaku: Barella is one of the best
Last week, Barella was spotted in a verbal altercation with his Inter teammate Romelu Lukaku during the goalless draw with Sampdoria.

But ahead of Saturday's 3-1 win over Udinese, Lukaku was full of praise for the Italian – describing him as one of his greatest ever teammates.
"If I have to choose a player to go to war with it is Barella, one of the best teammates I've had in my career," the Belgium international said.
Barella joined Inter from Cagliari in 2020 and has gone on to make 164 appearances for the club, scoring 17 times.
He has also scored eight goals in 42 appearances for the Italian national team and was part of the side that won Euro 2020, starting the final against England at Wembley.
