Real Madrid are plotting a player-plus-cash deal to sign Borussia Dortmund star Jude Bellingham, according to reports.
The pursuit of Bellingham amongst top European clubs has been long-standing, with interest from Manchester United and Liverpool, especially, going back to his days at Birmingham.
Bellingham progressed through the youth system at the Blues, before becoming the club's youngest ever senior player. He left to join Dortmund at the age of just 17 in the summer of 2020, and has taken his career to new heights.

Now a seasoned England international and one of the best box-to-box midfielders in world football, the 19-year-old has once again been linked with a big move in the upcoming summer window.
And while, as per The Sun, Dortmund want £130 million to sell their star asset, the Daily Star reported last week that Bellingham was expected to reject a new deal at the club.
He is, however, under contract until 2025, meaning the German giants have no immediate requirement to sell - but Liverpool, United and Real Madrid are among the teams desperate to sign him.

And according to Sky Germany, Real are trying to steal the initiative in the chase to sign the midfielder.
Real planning 'player-plus-cash' offer for Liverpool target Bellingham
Sky reporter Marc Behrenbeck has claimed that it will require 'creative ideas' for Dortmund to sell Bellingham this summer - and Real may just have found the ideal solution.
He claims that Los Blancos are prepared to offer a player-plus-cash bid for the England midfielder, as initially reported by Spanish media. It is said that the cash bid will equal €100 million.

However, it is the identity of the player that could be offered in exchange that will cause the most intrigue. Sky Germany claim that a plan to offer Eduardo Camavinga to Dortmund is currently under consideration at Real, with Bellingham going the other way if any deal can be agreed.
Like Bellingham, Camavinga is one of the most highly-rated young midfielders in Europe, despite the 20-year-old only making five starts in La Liga this season.
Standard Sport claimed on Friday that Arsenal were keen on bringing him to the Emirates Stadium on loan for the rest of the season, but those rumours were shut down by the player's agent.
He told Fabrizio Romano: "There's no truth in [Arsenal links]. Of course every club in the world would want him, but he's very happy in Real Madrid and Real Madrid are very happy with him."

Real boss Carlo Ancelotti then described Camavinga as 'untouchable' in January, and Sky Germany also say it is unclear as to whether the France midfielder would want to leave the Bernabeu.
