Fabrizio Romano has dropped a major update on Liverpool’s summer transfer plans.
The Reds have endured a torrid season and are in dire need of recruits in the summer.
Jurgen Klopp’s side needs midfield rejuvenation in particular, with first-choice trio Thiago Alcantara, Fabinho and Jordan Henderson having all suffered from poor form and injuries throughout the campaign.

Furthermore, fringe players Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are likely to leave in the summer upon the expiry of their contracts while Arthur Melo has been tipped to return to Juventus at the end of the season after a disastrous injury-hit loan spell in Merseyside.
The Times claim Liverpool owners, Fenway Sports Group, have committed themselves to a “massive transfer overhaul” despite seeking new investment into the club.
The publication suggests the Americans will provide Klopp with the necessary transfer funds for a major renovation of his side. It’s a move that represents a “statement of commitment” from the wantaway owners, who put the club up for sale back in November.
Romano drop Liverpool update
Transfer guru Romano reiterated that Liverpool have cited Borussia Dortmund and England star Jude Bellingham as their primary transfer target in the summer.

However, the journalist claimed Klopp’s side could also target another midfielder in addition to the 19-year-old.
“For sure Liverpool want to support Klopp in the summer with the new signings,” the Italian reporter told Caught Offside.
“Bellingham is the top priority but there’s a chance they can go for one more midfielder because of Keita, Milner and Chamberlain's contract situation.”
The journalist added that the Reds could also look to recruit another centre-back with Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate having been sidelined by successive injuries.

Joel Matip and Joe Gomez have proved unconvincing as understudies, while the former will be entering the final year of his contract in the summer.
Romano added: “I’d keep an eye also on the centre-backs situation.”
