Fabio Carvalho has impressed in his first Liverpool training sessions, according to teammates Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Rhys Williams.
Carvalho was officially signed by Liverpool in May, for a fee of around £5 million, which is a bargain for a player of his ability.
The U-21 Portuguese international has begun training at the AXA training centre, having been unveiled at the club on Sunday.

His talent is undeniable, but the 19-year-old had the chance to impress his teammates face-to-face during training, and Carvalho has already left a strong impression.

Another promising youngster, Rhys Williams had this to say about Carvalho whilst speaking to LFCTV:
“We’ve already seen with Fabio training today and yesterday, he’s of a high, high standard,”
“He’s brilliant on the ball, he’s getting used to the way we want to play and the way we want to press.
“I think everyone that the club has signed is going to have a massive impact for us.”

Carvalho is one of three summer signings for Liverpool, the other two being Darwin Nunez and Calvin Ramsey.
All three players are expected to have an important role in the upcoming season, with squad depth necessary if Liverpool are to pip Manchester City to the title this season.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is a senior player whose future is in the air due to the arrival of Carvalho, but the 28-year-old only had good things to say about the new signing:
“Fab, he’s obviously a young player, very technically gifted.”

“I saw a few little bits from him at Fulham last year, and from guys I know there, they all speak very highly of him.”
“I’m sure we’re going to see him learn from a lot of the boys round here as well and settle in.”
“Just any new faces like that, it breeds the competition for places and a bit of excitement – something new, something fresh.”
“It sort of makes everyone stick it into the next gear to impress and to make sure the standards stay high. It’s a good thing, always.”

Carvalho is not expected to slot straight into the team at Liverpool, but will be hoping to impress in Liverpool’s upcoming pre-season games and could see himself staking a first-team place if he is to leave-a-mark on the pitch.
