Young Liverpool recruit Fabio Carvalho is set to be given opportunities to impress in pre-season as Jürgen Klopp assesses whether he’s ready for first team football.
Liverpool completed a deal which saw Carvalho switch Craven Cottage for Anfield in May, and he’ll finally arrive at his new club for pre-season in the coming weeks.
Reds fans are justifiably excited.

The 19-year-old started 33 games across 36 appearances in Fulham’s latest promotion campaign.
Along the way, he also managed to grab 11 goals and 7 assists. No mean feat for such a young player in a league as tough as the Championship.

Jürgen Klopp will be hoping he can extend Carvalho’s upward career trajectory at Liverpool next season.
The Portuguese youngster as such is set to be given playing time during pre-season, according to journalist Dean Jones.
Carvalho will be able to play a number of roles within Klopp’s system at Liverpool.
As a youngster, he has tended to operate slightly further forward in wide areas, but he’s also capable of playing as an attacking midfielder.

As such, in his early days at Liverpool, when given chances, he’ll likely play in one of the front three roles under Klopp.
However, as he matures and gets to know the Premier League better, he could be given opportunities in the middle of the park.
The potential sale of the likes of Takumi Minamino and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain does pave the way for Carvalho to pick up valuable first-team minutes.
Divock Origi’s move to AC Milan also presents further opportunities for Liverpool squad players to play in advanced areas.

Times are indeed changing at Liverpool. Jürgen Klopp will have to revamp his squad as his talismanic players continue to age.
That is why the German manager broke the bank for 22-year-old Darwin Nuñez, but Carvalho will be hoping the Uruguayan isn’t the only youngster to benefit from further first-team chances next season.
Also hoping to gain further chances is Harvey Elliot, another former Fulham man. The Englishman broke his ankle last season after a very promising start to the campaign. Him and Carvalho will be looking to displace some of the established first-team players at Liverpool this season.
