Former Liverpool full-back José Enrique has taken to Twitter to display his opposition to rumours suggesting Liverpool will make a move for Chelsea’s Timo Werner this summer.
Enrique describes Timo Werner as a "good player" but doesn’t feel like the German is needed at Anfield.
For Enrique, Liverpool already have enough depth in attacking areas.

Indeed, Liverpool boast impressive squad depth in forward areas. Despite losing Divock Origi and Sadio Mané this summer, Jürgen Klopp still has the luxury to pick from a plethora of attacking talent.
On top of what they’ve already got in the likes of Mo Salah, Roberto Firmino, Diogo Jota, and Luis Diaz, Darwin Núñez and Fabio Carvalho have been added this summer to Klopp’s attacking ranks.

However, there is an argument that Liverpool could do with one more on top of that, perhaps a Premier League proven player, given the lack of experience Núñez and Carvalho arrive with.
Whether Klopp's side decide to sign a new forward will likely be heavily influenced by Mo Salah’s contractual problems.
The Egyptian is holding out for £400,000 a week at Anfield—a figure Liverpool aren’t willing to match, and he could thus be on his way out this summer.
Salah is a player who would absolutely need to be replaced if he were to leave Anfield.

However, Liverpool fans would be hopeful such a replacement was a higher calibre of player than Timo Werner.
That said, Werner could be a useful option for Liverpool despite what José Enrique thinks. He’d be well suited to Jürgen Klopp’s high-intensity football at Merseyside.
Chelsea, though, may not be willing to sell this summer.
They’re set to let Romelu Lukaku return to Inter Milan on loan leaving Werner as one of few established first-team strikers at the club.

Thus, while Werner would be a good addition to the Liverpool attack, it’s a transfer which is probably not going to occur this summer.
