Manchester United are weighing up a move for South American star Joao Gomes, but the player is said to prefer a move to Premier League rivals Liverpool.
Brazilian news outlet Coluna do Fla have reported that the Red Devils are willing to spend £32 million to secure the youngster’s signature, but the player may need some convincing to move to Manchester.
The article states that United have been interested in the 21 year-old for a while, and have scouted him on numerous occasions, but the player himself revealed it is his ‘greatest desire’ to join Jurgen Klopp and the reds.

Speaking to ESPN Brazil, Gomes said: “Liverpool are a team I’d play for. I have the greatest desire to play"
"Playing in the Champions League is my biggest dream and that of my family, my biggest dream in football.”
This isn’t the first time that United have struggled to attract players to their club this summer and it has been reported that their main transfer target, Frenkie De Jong, does not want to move to Manchester and would prefer signing for Chelsea.
Liverpool fans will be excited by the youngsters’ desire to join them, especially when you consider the fact he is a midfielder.

The midfield at Liverpool is in a tenuous state at the moment with the majority of those covering the positions getting on.
Milner and Henderson are already in their 30s, and Fabinho and Oxlade-Chamberlain are only a year away from joining them.
In addition, Thiago is set to be on the sidelines for up to six weeks after picking up a hamstring injury in the second half of Liverpool’s lacklustre display against newly promoted Fulham.
Whilst a rebuild in the middle of the park is undoubtedly needed, Klopp is more in search of a ready made player to slot straight in rather than a rough diamond who needs to be eased into the Premier League, therefore making any move for Joao Gomes this summer highly unlikely.
