Paris Saint-Germain are reluctant to grant Lionel Messi's World Cup trophy request over fear of what the backlash might be.
Messi finally got his hands on the trophy which has evaded him for so long after Argentina beat France 4-2 on penalties following an enthralling 3-3 draw.
Messi scored in every round, including twice in the final, and many feel as though the win cements his place as the greatest player to ever play the game.

The 35-year-old has been enjoying the celebrations after completing football, having had the parade in Buenos Aires before being mobbed by fans at his house on Rosario.
Goal say that Messi wants to bring the World Cup trophy to the Parc des Princes, home of his club PSG and has asked the Ligue One champions if it would be possible to present it before the next home game.
But the club aren't so sure given Messi and Argentina beat France to win the World Cup and fear the reaction will be negative.

There's also the fact that Argentina have been mocking Messi's teammate Kylian Mbappe in the celebrations despite him scoring a hat-trick that secured him the Golden Boot award.
Messi has been criticised for staying silent and not calling out the behaviour from Emiliano Martinez.
There were jokes that Messi would be sacked by Mbappe and PSG if he bested them in the World Cup final at the Lusail Stadium in Qatar

But already people in France have made it clear what they think of Messi. A bar have put Messi's white PSG shirt down on as a doormat on the floor as you enter their premises.
Next to the jersey is a sign which reads, "Remember to wipe your feet when you enter."
It will be interesting to see what kind of reception Messi gets upon returning to PSG, where he is slated to sign a new contract extension.
