Kylian Mbappe's reported wage demands could price Liverpool out of a potential transfer.
Mbappe's contract at Paris Saint-Germain is up in the summer and it's looking increasingly unlikely that he will be staying at the Parc Des Princes.
While his new deal signed in 2022 appeared to be until 2025, it was actually only a two-year extension with the option of a third.
Although there is a new contract on the table, Mbappe does not wish to trigger the extension and is therefore free to speak to foreign clubs and even pen a pre-contract agreement.

Real Madrid and Liverpool appear to be the clubs leading the race for the Frenchman but even without a transfer fee involved, the cost of a deal could be astronomical.
The Telegraph say that Mbappe will look for a deal which will see him earn a whopping £64.5 million per year.
Broken down further, the rumoured pay packet equates to £1.24 million-a-week but those figures will almost certainly rule out Liverpool.

Liverpool talisman Mo Salah is the top earner at Anfield, with his new three-year contract said to be worth £350,000-a-week.
Mbappe's desired wage would be four times that and would make it difficult to comply with Financial Fair Play regulations.
Real have admired the former Monaco man for a while now and came close to signing him a couple of years back before he performed a major U-turn.

Yet they too may struggle to shell out on such wages and could be forced into selling players to make room.
There was recently talk of Mbappe having an agreement with Real but his camp were quick to deny he has made any decision on a future.
A statement said: “There is no agreement around Kylian’s future, especially since there are no discussions started about it.
“No type of influence could dictate the timing of Kylian’s discussions, reflections or decision.”
