Lamine Yamal receives record transfer value after incredible Euro 2024 tournament

Lamal Yamal's transfer value has skyrocketed after a sensational Euro 2024 tournament with Spain.

The Barcelona wonderkid went into the tournament as a 16-year-old and enjoyed a terrific campaign which ended in La Roja beating England in the final to claim a fourth Euros.

Yamal, who turned 17 just before the final, provided his fourth assist of the tournament when he set up fellow wing wizard Nico Williams' opener in Berlin.

The youngster scored arguably the best goal of the competition against France and was deservedly named the Young Player of the Tournament.

Yamal looks set to be the next big thing in world football and Barcelona have already moved to give him Lionel Messi's old shirt number.

And incredibly, Yamal's sensational rise to prominence has resulted in a record-breaking market value.

In their latest update, popular website Transfer Markt gave 35 players from Euro 2024 an increase on their value.

But it is once again Yamal who has hit headlines. Following a seven-goal season with Barca, he went into the tournament rated at €90 million.

But his value now stands at €120 million, meaning Yamal has therefore had the biggest update and becomes the first player under 19 to surpass €100 million mark in Transfer Markt.

"Yamal was a household name for most football fans, but now the whole world knows him," Tobias Blaseio, Transfer Markt's value expert for Spain, said.

"Best young player of the tournament, top assister in the entire tournament. At 17 years old, he has broken a number of records and made a decisive contribution to the European Championship title, especially in the semi-finals and the final."

In October, Barcelona agreed a new deal with Yamal, tying him down until 2026 and including a whopping €1 billion release clause.

However, latest developments from Sport claim Yamal's agent Jorge Mendes is lobbying for him to receive a bumper pay rise as part of a new contract.
