
Barcelona's clash against Osasuna has been postponed to a later date following the tragic death of the Catalan club's first-team doctor Carles Minarro Garcia.
The game was scheduled to start at 20:00 GMT but was called off shortly before kick-off.
At 7:45pm on Saturday night, Barcelona released a statement on X, formerly Twitter, to confirm the devastating news.
It read: "FC Barcelona is deeply saddened to announce the passing of first-team doctor Carles Miñarro Garcia this evening. For this reason, the match between FC Barcelona and CA Osasuna has been postponed to a later date."
The statement added: "The FC Barcelona Board of Directors and all staff extend our heartfelt condolences to his family and friends during this difficult time."
Osasuna have also released a statement following the postponement of Saturday's scheduled game at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys.
It read: "Club Atlético Osasuna wishes to convey its deepest condolences to the family of Dr. Carles Miñarro Garcia and would like to send a warm hug to all the staff of FC Barcelona, as well as to its fans, at this difficult time. May he rest in peace. Goian bego."
La Liga have also posted an update regarding the game.
It read: "La Liga regrets the death of the doctor of the first team of FC Barcelona, Dr. Carles Miñarro, and informs that for this reason, the match @FCBarcelona_es - @Osasuna scheduled for today has been postponed, pending the decision of the sole judge of Competitions."
They added: "La Liga would like to express its sincere condolences to the family, friends, club and fans and share their grief. The new date and time of the match will be announced shortly."
