An England fan has ripped into Harry Kane after England’s disappointing performance in the Nations League against Germany on Tuesday night.
Speaking on talkSPORT, the England fan named Lee believes the Tottenham Hotspur striker shouldn’t be starting for Gareth Southgate’s side.
“It’s like watching the same thing over and over again” Lee said about England’s recent performances.

He then spoke about Kane, saying: “I don’t think Harry Kane should be starting in that team, I think he takes more away from the team than what he gives.”
At this point, talkSPORT presenter Laura Woods had a surprised look on her face and replied in disbelief: “Harry Kane?”
Lee then continued to give reasons why he thinks Kane is not right for Southgate’s side.
He added: “He’s got to 50 goals, he scored another penalty but he is not a centre forward that you need, he has not got the pace to play the free flowing football you want to see.”
“And then he is picking the ball up on the left wing, taking it off Mason Mount’s foot. He is then looking up to cross the ball into the box and thinking there’s no one there, yeah because you should be in there!”

Woods continued to look in shock as Lee waded in on England’s second highest top goal scorer.
After his penalty to rescue a point in the match against Germany, Kane is now only three goals short of the country’s all time top scorer, Wayne Rooney.
It has been a difficult week so far for Southgate and England after a poor performance against Hungary resulted in a shock 1-0 defeat, and they needed a late penalty to draw level against Germany. Southgate’s side currently sit bottom of their Nations League group with fixtures against Italy and Hungary to come in the next week.
England will then play Italy and Germany again in September before heading to Qatar for the 2022 World Cup. There are plenty of improvement to be made if England are serious about going deep in the tournament.

They are looking to go one better than last year’s Euro, after falling in the last hurdle against Italy after a heartbreaking penalty shoot out defeat at Wembley.
Under the guidance of Southgate, England finished fourth in the 2018 World Cup, then finished third in the Nations League before finishing second in last year’s Euro. Can they finally finish first in this year’s World Cup? Only time will tell.
