Bayern Munich have reportedly made an improved offer for Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane, who is believed to be keen on a move to the German champions.
Kane’s future has been the subject of much speculation in recent months as he enters the final year of his current contract with Spurs, which runs until the summer of 2024.
Manchester United appeared to be initial front-runners in the race to acquire the England captain’s services, with the forward reportedly top of Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag’s summer shopping list.

However, it is believed United have been deterred by the hefty £100m valuation of Kane by his current employers in north London.
Now, it seems that Bayern Munich, managed by former Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel, look favourites to lure Kane away from Tottenham, who endured yet another season of disappointment last term as they finished outside the European places and ended the campaign without a permanent manager in place.
The arrival of new boss Ange Postecoglou has remedied that, however, the club could be set to lose their star man as the Bundesliga winners have reportedly upped their bid for the forward.

According to Sky Sports journalist, Florian Plettenberg, Bayern have increased their initial offer of €70m plus add-ons, which was rejected, to €80m plus add-ons.
Plettenberg also claims that Kane “definitely wants to join FC Bayern now!”

While the offer is still lower than Spurs’ initial asking price, it is unlikely that the club would want to let Kane leave on a free transfer next year. Therefore, if a new contract agreement cannot be reached, it is possible Tottenham could sell.
That said, Kane is only 48 goals away from besting Alan Shearer’s all-time Premier League goalscoring record, so to see Kane depart for Europe might still seem like a surprising destination.
The Three Lions’ skipper, who turns 30 this month, has scored a record 280 goals for Tottenham, 213 of which have come in the Premier League.
